Your developers do the work with our guidance, or our developers do it on your codebase. Every change is reviewed for accessibility before it ships.

We re-test every fix with manual review and assistive technology, confirm WCAG conformance, and document what changed for your records.

Building accessibility in from day one

Retrofitting an inaccessible site to WCAG 2.1 AA is almost always more expensive than designing it accessibly from the start. We build new websites where accessibility is a core requirement at every stage: in Figma during design, in code during development, in QA before each release. Every deliverable is screen-reader tested. Every component meets WCAG. The site launches conformant.

This is also how we built and rebuilt our own site. The new accessibilities.co was developed with manual accessibility review at the design phase, content phase, and development phase – published with documentation of conformance, not a retrofit at the end.

What's the difference between an accessibility audit and remediation?

An audit identifies the barriers; remediation fixes them. An audit produces a report with every WCAG 2.1 AA violation, where it is, what it is, and how to fix it. Remediation is the engineering work that actually changes the code, content, and components so users with disabilities can use the site. Most accessibility firms only do the audit. We do both.

Do you work with our existing developers?

Yes, and that’s how most engagements run. We produce developer-ready remediation guidance – the exact code change, the affected component, the WCAG criterion it satisfies, and the assistive-technology behavior we expect. Your developers implement; we re-test. This is usually the fastest, lowest-cost path to compliance.

Can you handle the remediation in-house instead?

Yes. For organizations without development capacity, we have accessibility-trained developers who can implement remediation directly on your codebase. We work in WordPress, React, Vue, Shopify, custom HTML/CSS/JS, and most enterprise CMS platforms. Remediation is delivered with documentation of every change.

Are accessibility overlays or widgets an alternative?

No. Overlays are not a substitute for real remediation. They do not fix underlying code barriers, they have themselves been the subject of accessibility lawsuits, and they cannot produce the documentation a defense relies on. The U.S. Department of Justice, the disability community, and most accessibility firms agree: overlays are not compliance. Real remediation is.

How long does website remediation take?

It depends on the size of the site, the number of barriers identified, and the complexity of the codebase. A small marketing site with 30 issues might take 2-3 weeks; a large e-commerce site with hundreds of components and 500+ findings can take months. We provide a scoped timeline after the audit, broken into priority tiers so the highest-risk barriers are fixed first.

Yes. We build new accessible websites where accessibility is a core requirement from the first wireframe, not a retrofit at the end.
